Cardinal Sean O’Malley has authorized a special

You now have the opportunity to have flowers
placed on our altar in memory of loved ones. The flower
piece will be one basket placed in front of the main altar.
The parish makes arrangements for the flowers. The name
of your loved one and the donor will be placed in the bulletin
for that weekend. The donation is $50.00. The Sundays of
Advent and Lent are excluded as flowers are not permitted
during these Liturgical seasons. Please call the rectory if
you are interested in donating flowers for a particular
weekend.
This weekend, May 21st/22nd, flowers have been
placed on our altar in memory of Beverly Turner by her
loving family.

A word about RCIA: RCIA is the Rite of
Christian Initiation of Adults, a process by which
adults “after hearing the mystery of Christ
proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living
God…..By God’s help they will be strengthened
spiritually during their preparation and…..will
receive the sacraments fruitfully”. The RCIA program
includes: people who were never baptized; those baptized in
another faith; and those who were baptized Catholic but
have never received the sacraments of Eucharist or
Confirmation.
If you are interested in the Catholic faith, or have a
friend or relative who may be interested in making this
journey of faith, please invite the person to contact Sister
Jane at the rectory.

FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
First Reading: Acts 6:1-7
In Jerusalem at the time of Christ, some Jewish
people spoke Greek, others spoke Aramaic and each group
went to its own synagogue. It appears that the apostles were
among those who spoke Aramaic. In today’s reading, we
will hear some of the problems this created in the Christian
community and how these were addressed.
Second Reading: 1 Peter 2:4-9
The first letter of Peter was written to a Christian
community that felt alienated from their pagan neighbors.
Today the author reminds them that they belong to a special
group of people, the people of God.

Reaching New Heights – A retreat for young adults
in their 20’s and 30’s
(Re-) discover our call to discipleship by reflecting
on the parables of Jesus. Throughout the weekend, we will
move from recognizing the “seeds of faith” in our lives to
identifying what God is asking of us as faithful witnesses to
the Gospel. The retreat will include Mass, Adoration, talks,
witnesses, personal prayer and the opportunity to meet other
young adults from the greater Boston area. The retreat dates
are Friday evening June 3rd to Sunday afternoon June 5th
at St. Thecla Retreat House, Billerica, MA ($145 per
person). For more info or to register, contact Fr. Mike
Harrington mharrington527@gmail.com or 617 746-5794.

“Charity may be a very short word, but with its
tremendous meaning of pure love, it sums up one’s entire
relation to God and to one’s neighbor.”
