A word about RCIA: RCIA is the
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, a
process by which adults “after hearing the
mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously
and freely seek the living God…..By God’s
help they will be strengthened spiritually
during their preparation and…..will receive
the sacraments fruitfully”. The RCIA
program includes: people who were never
baptized; those baptized in another faith; and those who
were baptized Catholic but have never received the
sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation.
If you are interested in the Catholic faith, or have a
friend or relative who may be interested in making this
journey of faith, please invite the person to contact Sister
Jane at the rectory.

FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
First Reading: Acts 2:14, 36-41
In last Sunday’s reading from the Acts of the
Apostles, we heard a portion of Peter’s sermon at the first
Pentecost. Today’s passage gives the last part of that
sermon and the reaction of those who heard it.
Second Reading: 1 Peter 2:20-25
Today’s passage from the first letter of Peter was
addressed to Christian slaves who were being treated harshly
by their pagan masters. The author reminds them that they
are members of a flock whose shepherd walked ahead of
them in the face of insults and unjust treatment.

Our Offertory this weekend, May
14th/15th, has two Intentions: our regular
Parish Support Collection and the Collection
for Communications. Next weekend, May
21st/22nd, there will be the Collection for
Military Archdiocese/Home Missions/Black
and Native Americans. The basket will be
passed once. We thank you for your generosity.
Reflection: Jesus says, “I came that they may have life, and
have it to the full.” Good stewards are grateful for the gift
of life and joyfully share their abundance with others.

Vocation Prayer to Mary,
Mother of the Divine Shepherd
Holy Mother of the Good Shepherd, turn your
motherly care to our Archdiocese of Boston. Intercede for us
to the Lord of the Harvest to send more laborers to the
harvest. Inspire vocations in our time. Let the word of your
Son be made flesh anew in the lives of persons anxious to
proclaim the Good News of everlasting life. Draw them near
to the heart of your Son so that they can understand the
beauty and the joy that awaits them when the Lord Jesus calls
them to be his witnesses. Amen

Respect for Our Lord and Each Other
As the weather gets warmer and outdoor activities
multiply, it is important to reflect on how we prepare
ourselves and our families for Church attendance. The Lord,
who is present among us and present in the Tabernacle,
deserves our best. Our attire should be respectful and modest
as we come to celebrate Mass. Please consider: you are
coming to be present to Christ in His Real Presence, the
Holy Eucharist, and to Christ in His Body, all of us who
make up the Church. We are His Body…how do we
represent Him to each other and to the world?

Please pray every day for God’s
protection of everyone in our country from the
dangers of war and terrorism and especially for
all of our Service Men and Women.
