Today we celebrate Father’s Day. We honor our
fathers and thank them for giving us life, for nurturing that
life within us and for helping us to be all that we can be. We
pray for our fathers, those living and those who are
deceased, at all the Masses.

A word about RCIA: RCIA is the
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, a process
by which adults “after hearing the mystery of
Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek
the living God…..By God’s help they will be
strengthened spiritually during their
preparation and…..will receive the sacraments
fruitfully”. The RCIA program includes:
people who were never baptized; those baptized in another
faith; and those who were baptized Catholic but have never
received the sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation.
If you are interested in the Catholic faith, or have a
friend or relative who may be interested in making this
journey of faith, please invite the person to contact Sister
Jane at the rectory.

You now have the opportunity to have flowers
placed on our altar in memory of loved ones. The flower
piece will be one basket placed in front of the main altar.
The parish makes arrangements for the flowers. The name
of your loved one and the donor will be placed in the bulletin
for that weekend. The donation is $50.00. The Sundays of
Advent and Lent are excluded as flowers are not permitted
during these Liturgical seasons. Please call the rectory if
you are interested in donating flowers for a particular
weekend.

Our Offertory this weekend, June
18th/19th has two Intentions: our regular Parish
Support Collection and the Summer Energy
Collection. The basket will be passed twice. We
thank you for your generosity.
Reflection: The Gospel today is sometimes called “the Gospel in
miniature” because it so concisely sums up the Gospel message.
In even more condensed form, “God loved…God Gave…,” it is the
paradigm for stewardship – we give because we love.

TRINITY SUNDAY
First Reading: Exodus 34:4-6, 8-9
When Moses saw the Israelite people worshiping the
golden calf, he angrily threw down and broke the tablets
containing the commandments. Later, God instructed him to
cut two new tablets. Today’s passage begins at that point,
and offsets the mistaken notion that the Old Testament
always presents a stern and angry God.
Second Reading: 2 Corinthians 13:11-13
This passage is the ending of Paul’s second letter to
the Corinthians. The Church chose this passage for Trinity
Sunday because the final sentence mentions all three persons
of the Trinity. That sentence is also used as one of the
greetings at the beginning of Mass.

everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have
