“Confirmation grounds us more deeply in our divine adoption, unites us more firmly to Christ, strengthens the gifts of the Holy Spirit given to us at Baptism, perfects our relationship with the Church, and grants the special strength of the Holy Spirit for spreading and defending the faith by word and action as true witnesses of Christ.”
Preparing for Confirmation: Resources and Guidelines, Archdiocese of Boston
St. John’s Confirmation program is a two-year program with students beginning most typically in 9th grade after completing grades 1-8 in a Religious Education Program. Those students attending a Catholic High School in their 9th grade will enter the Confirmation program in grade 10. All parish programs in the Archdiocese of Boston have the same requirements: weekly Mass attendance, faith development, service to the Parish and the greater community and a Confirmation focused retreat.
Confirmation classes are held on Sunday evenings from 6:00PM to 7:00PM and Wednesday evenings from 8:00PM to 9:00PM. Students may register for the Sunday OR the Wednesday class.
